Play Works is a family-run out-of-school club and pre-school founded in May 2004. The family have occupied the premises for over 20 years; (previously ‘Arthur’s Gym’ owned by Angie’s dad who still helps out with repairs and maintenance). The building was originally built as a County Library where Karl used to get his books when he was pre-school age - a very long time ago!

As parents ourselves we are very aware of how difficult it is to find the right setting in which to leave your children. We do all we can to ensure the children in our care have a great time and genuinely enjoy being at Play Works; providing peace of mind for parents and carers.

We have a fantastic team of highly trained and qualified staff who thoroughly enjoy spending time with children and are dedicated to creating new and exciting games and activities. Children can choose from a wide variety of activities but whatever they decide the emphasis is always on having FUN!

Play Works boasts two outdoor play areas; one covered with artificial turf, the other with hard surfacing offering a broad range of outdoor pursuits where children can really let off steam in the fresh air.

The location of the club allows us to make considerable use of the local parks and Urmston Meadows, which offer the opportunity for more challenging physical games and activities. We also organise trips to museums, parks and places of interest during our Holiday Club 

We actively promote health awareness and encourage children to make healthy choices. We ensure children get plenty of opportunity for physical exercise and promote healthy eating by providing a varied menu of healthy snacks.

Our commitment to ‘being healthy’ has been acknowledged by Trafford MBC, we have been presented with the “Trafford Healthy Club Awards” for both healthy eating and for promoting physical play.
