Fun packed days for children to play, make friends and simply have a great time.
Throughout the day children are given plenty of opportunity to express themselves in ‘free play’; activities including role play (home corner, shop and dressing up), board games, computer games, snooker and pool or playing freely with a host of toys.
Children are also encouraged to take part in games and activities organised and led by members of the Play Works Team. Such activities include art and crafts (usually related to a present or seasonal theme), baking and ‘everyone’ gets to taste the culinary delights prepared by the children, sports games and activities; supporting programmes recommended by the Youth Sport Trust like Top Start and Top Play, (see our school clubs page for more information) bingo with prizes and a host of other group games and activities.
We have a TV/quiet room where children can chill out, watch television, read or just chat with friends.
In addition to the activities organised within the immediate vicinity of the premises we arrange visits to other local amenities such as:
- Urmston Meadows
- The Curzon Cinemas
with trips further a field to
- Dunham Massey
- Museums in and around the City Centre
additional charges may be necessary for selected trips
Children can also make extensive use of our outside play area; here they can really let off steam with all the activities described above and more but in the fresh air.
The location of the club allows full advantage to be made of the facilities on the local Parks, Golden Hill Park and Davyhulme Park in particular. During the summer months we spend a great deal of our time on both the play ground and on the playing field for football, rounders, parachute games and loads of other sports and group games.
Light snacks such as fruit, crisps and biscuits are provided throughout the day and drinks are freely available. A packed lunch will be required for lunchtime.
All our activities are flexible and children are given freedom of choice, priority is given to individual children’s needs; whatever they decide the emphasis is always FUN!
Great Fun for Kids!
Peace of mind for parents
